China Minmetals ( Chinese  中国 五矿 集团公司 , Pinyin Zhōngguó Wǔ Kuàng Jítuán Gōngsī , 五矿 for short , Wǔ Kuàng ) is a Chinese company with headquarters in Beijing . As a state-owned company, China Minmetals specializes in the trade in metals and minerals and their production (including copper , aluminum , tungsten , tin , antimony , lead , zinc , nickel ). China Minmetals is also active in the production and trading of steel. The company was founded in 1950. Company locations can be found in China and in more than 40 other countries worldwide.

China Minmetals subsidiaries are Minmetals Resources and Minmetals Development , which is particularly active in Latin America and Africa.

Through its subsidiary Minerals and Metals Group , China Minmetals has a majority stake in the Peruvian copper mine Las Bambas in the Chalhuahuacho district (Cotabambas province) and is jointly responsible for the destruction of the environment there.
