The China Railway Engineering Corporation ( Sino 中国铁路工程集团有限公司 ) and China Railway Engineering , is a Chinese holding company owned by the state, under the supervision of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission stands. The company is the main shareholder of the subsidiary China Railway Group . In 2018, China Railway Engineering was ranked 55th among the largest companies in the world.
history
The history of the company can be traced back to 1950, when two offices of the Ministry of Railways were founded, the “main construction office” (工程 总局) and the “main construction office” (设计 总局). In 1958, the design office and construction office were merged to form the main infrastructure construction office of the Ministry of Railways (铁道部 基本建设 总局). From 1950 to 1990 the main office was a government agency under whose supervision many railway and highway bridges were built.
In 1990 the authority was split into two independent companies, China Railway Construction and China Railway Engineering. The two companies were officially registered on March 7, 1990. In September 2003, with the introduction of the Centrally Managed Enterprise System, they were placed under the supervision of the Commission for the Control and Management of State Assets (SASAC), an authority of the State Council. Since then, they have become competitors, even though both are state-owned.
In 2007, the China Railway Group GmbH (中国 中 铁 有限公司) was founded from China Railway Engineering . China Railway Engineering transferred most of its assets to the subsidiary. In 2008 the subsidiary became a publicly traded company whose shares are traded on the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges .
