Chinasat 6A (Zhongxing 6A, ZX 6A, Sinosat-6, Xinnuo 6) is a geostationary communications satellite of the Chinasat series developed by the Chinese Academy of Space Technology and manufactured by the China Satellite Communications Corporation, also known as "China Satcom" (中国卫 通 集团 股份有限公司) is operated. Both companies are subsidiaries of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation .
The satellite was 4 September 2010 by a rocket-type CZ-3B from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center brought out into space and will be positioned at 125 degrees East. CHINASAT 6A based on the DFH-4 satellite bus and with 24 C-band , 8 Ku-Band and an S-band - transponder equipped. The life expectancy is planned to be 15 years and it will replace the previous Chinasat 5C . However, a leak leaked helium, which is required to build up pressure in the drive system, so that the full service life was probably not achieved.
