Chinthana Vidanage

Chinthana Geetal Vidanage (born December 31, 1981 in Polonnaruwa ) is a Sri Lankan weightlifter .

Career

Vidanage won the gold medal in the class up to 62 kg at the 2006 Commonwealth Games . In 2007 he took part in the World Championships , but had no valid attempt in pushing. In 2008 Vidanage took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he reached 16th place in the 69 kg class. At the Asian Championships in 2009 he was seventh. In 2010 he won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games . At the 2011 Asian Championships he was fifth. However, he was tested positive for methylhexanamine during the doping control and banned for two years. After his suspension, he finished fourth at the 2013 Commonwealth Championships.
