Career

Chinwendu Johan Nkama was born on January 7, 1998 in Lagos, the capital of Nigeria. He started playing soccer as a child and joined the Lagos-based Flying Sport Academy in his youth . He was active there until 2017 before making the leap to Europe. With the Swiss Super League club FC Lugano , Nkama signed a five-year contract with a term until June 30, 2022. After being active in the club's own youth team in the first few weeks, he was awarded to the Slovenian first division club NK Ankaran in August 2017 until the end of the season . On September 9, 2017, he made his professional debut in a 2-0 home defeat against ND Gorica when he was used by coach Vlado Badžim from the start and for the full game. In this game he was still in the central midfield, but Badžim let him play in various midfield positions in the subsequent league games, in which he always acted as a regular player, and sometimes even used the 1.88 m tall African as a central defender .

After being sent off prematurely in the 17th championship round after a yellow-red card , he was suspended for one game and contributed his first assist in the Slovenian first class in the next game. After that, however, he fell out for another three league games, but was then - with the exception of the last game of the season - a regular player of the men's team of NK Ankaran. After 36 championship games, the NK Ankaran ranked tenth and last place in the table at the end of the season, which meant direct relegation to the Slovenian second division . By then, Nkama had made 24 league appearances and two assists and immediately returned to his home club. From the 2018/19 season he then appeared for the U-21 team of FC Lugano in the fifth-class Swiss 2nd league interregional - Group 6 .

In the summer of 2019 Nkama was awarded to Slovenia again; this time it went to FC Postojna , which was re-established as NK Ankaran Postojna in 2019 after the dissolution of NK Ankaran and NK Postojna and was renamed FC Postojna shortly afterwards . He is under contract for the lower-class Slovenes until the summer of 2021 for a period of two years.
