Ennio Falco (born January 3, 1968 in Capua ) is a former Italian marksman in the discipline of skeet . In 1996 he was Olympic champion in this discipline. He was world champion three times with the Italian team and at European championships he won five titles each in individual and team.

Athletic career

Ennio Falco began shooting sports in 1983. In 1985 he was fourth in the Junior European Championships, in 1987 and 1988 he won the silver medal. In 1988 he also won a World Cup event for the first time. In total, Ennio Falco won ten World Cup events between 1988 and 2009, he came second in seven events and was third six times. In addition, he won the World Cup finals five times from 1992 to 2010, three times he was second and twice third. In 1997 he achieved a perfect result of 150 goals at the World Cup in Lonato .

In 1994 he won bronze at the world championships in Fagnano Olona , and was also third in 2002 and 2009. He won world championship silver five times: 1997 in Lima behind Abdullah Al Raschidi from Kuwait, 2001 in Cairo behind Shawn Dulohery from the United States, 2005 in Lonato behind Vincent Hancock from the United States, 2010 in Munich behind the Russian Valeri Schomin and in 2013 again in Lima behind the Dane Jesper Hansen . In 1994 in Fagnano Olona with Andrea Benelli and Bruno Rossetti , in 1999 in Tampere with Pietro Genga and Andrea Benelli and in 2006 in Zagreb with Valerio Luchini and Andrea Benelli, Falco was world champion with the Italian team.

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , Falco hit all 125 targets in qualifying and only made one miss in the final. He won the gold medal in front of the Poles Mirosław Rzepkowski and Andrea Benelli. Ennio Falco took part in a total of five Olympic Games. In 2000 , 2008 and 2012 it was ranked 14th, and in 2004 in Athens it was ranked 21st.

In 1997 Ennio Falco won bronze at the European Championships. From 2001 to 2004 and 2006 he won the European championship title five times in individual, plus team titles in 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001 and 2005. In 2009 Falco won another silver medal in individual.

In 2005 Ennio Falco won the Mediterranean Games in Almeria ahead of Andrea Benelli.

The 1.66 m tall Ennio Falco is a member of the Corpo Forestale dello Stato , for whose sports department he also stood.
