Yevgeny Alexandrovich Petrov ( Russian: Евгений Александрович Петров ; born October 16, 1938 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Soviet sports shooter . He was active in the skeet discipline .
successes
Yevgeny Petrov, who started for CSKA Moscow , took part in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City and the 1972 Games in Munich . As one of three shooters, he scored a total of 198 hits in 1968. In the jump-off that followed, he was the only one to hit all 25 goals and thus became Olympic champion ahead of Romano Garagnani and Konrad Wirnhier . Four years later, with 195 hits, he was again one of three shooters who achieved the best score. In addition to Petrow, Konrad Wirnhier and Michael Buchheim also got the jump-off. Wirnhier hit all targets, while Petrow missed one and thus received the silver medal, since Buchheim only managed 23 hits.
In 1967 Petrow was first runner-up in Bologna before winning the title in Phoenix in 1970 . He also secured the title with the team in 1970 and defended it in Bologna in 1971 and in Melbourne in 1973 .
