Matthew Alexander Dryke (born August 21, 1958 in Port Angeles ) is a former American marksman . He was active in the skeet discipline .

successes

Matthew Dryke took part in three Olympic Games . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he achieved the best result of all 69 starters with 198 points and was Olympic champion ahead of Ole Riber Rasmussen and Luca Scribani Rossi . Four years later he did not get past the 24th place in Seoul . Although he qualified for the semi-finals, he finished last with 193 points. In 1992 , however, he moved into the final in Barcelona . He finished in sixth place with 221 total points, only one point behind places two to five.

Dryke in 1983 in Edmonton and 1986 in Suhl in individual as well as 1979 in Montecatini Terme , 1982 in Caracas and in 1983 with the team champion . He also won silver in the individual in Valencia in 1987 . At Pan American Games , Dryke won silver in singles and gold with the team in San Juan in 1979 . 1983 in Caracas and 1987 in Indianapolis , he remained victorious in the individual and the team competition. He won the US championships nine times.

From 1978 to 1987 Dryke was part of the US Army sniper unit . He has been married to the Peruvian marksman Yvonne Dryke since 2002 and has a daughter with her.
