Irwin Larry Eberhart II (* 1966 in Chicago , Illinois , United States ) is a as Chip E. famous American musician and DJ . He is considered one of the founders of the Chicago House .

Career

Jack Trax , released in 1985, is considered one of the first house records. In a November 1986 issue of Street Mix magazine , he was first referred to as the "Godfather of House". After a contractual dispute, he quit his job with a record label and retired completely from the music business for five years.

He later founded the video production company highlevelproductions in Chicago . In 2005, Eberhart directed the documentary The UnUsual Suspects: Once Upon a Time in House Music . The film shows the development of house music through interviews with artists such as Loleatta Holloway , Steve 'Silk' Hurley , Marshall Jefferson , Frankie Knuckles and Jesse Saunders .
