Marshall Jefferson
Marshall Julius Jefferson (born September 19, 1959 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a DJ and musician of the house scene in Chicago.

Jefferson created with his track Move your body as early as 1986 one of the house anthems (like actually only later usual) Loop was structured -like, and the typical piano - chords and percussion -Klänge the TR-707 had -Drumcomputers that would become so characteristic of house sound over the next decade.
Other well-known tracks were the darkly ecstatic I've lost Control , Time marches on or Free yourself (sometimes under pseudonyms or as collaborations with other musicians). Under the pseudonym Virgo , he produced instrumental tracks that anticipated the sound of techno .
He is also said to be one of the fathers of acid house , as he used the psychedelic sounds of the Roland TB-303 in some tracks , which then became characteristic of this variety of the house genre.
