The Chiring We is a 6559 m high mountain in the Kumaon Himalaya in the Indian state of Uttarakhand .
The mountain is located in the Pithoragarh district . It represents the highest point of a mountain group between the Kalabaland glacier in the west and the river valley of the Lassar Yankti . The Nanda Devi is located 30 km west of the Chiring We.
The Chiring We was first climbed in 1979 by an Indian expedition led by Harish Kapadia over the northwest ridge. A second ascent of Chiring We took place on September 26, 2004 by a group of nine (Martin Moran, Alex Moran, Jonathan Preston, Liam Warren, Paul Watson, Stuart Reid, Christopher Wheatley, Geoffrey Dawson and Christopher Harle).
