Chishtian (Urdu: چشتیاں) is a town in district Bahawalnagar in the province of Punjab in Pakistan . It is located south of Faisalabad .
history
The city experienced armed sectarian violence between Sunni and Shiite Muslims in 2013. Local authorities urged the Pakistani army to bring order to the situation, possibly in response to similar violence in Rawalpindi the previous day.

economy
Chishtian has a large grain market which is the economic center of the city. There are several flour and sugar processing plants.
