rugby

As an 18-year-old player, Bax was the youngest player of the Mauritian women's national team "Barbarians" in rugby seven, which for the second time in the country's history took part in the 2019 African Championships in rugby seven in Monastir . On the first day, Mauritius lost all of its three group games against Tunisia (38), Madagascar and Morocco (both 41) to zero. On the second day, the first points were scored in the placement games in the 10-29 defeat against Ghana. In the final game for the penultimate place against Botswana, Mauritius almost celebrated its first win at the Africa Cup and was only defeated in extra time with 17-22. Bax was the standout player on her team and scored three attempts, each time crossing almost the entire field. She is considered one of the outstanding hopes for the future of her national team.

At the end of 2019 she also competed with the Mauritian Barbarians in the high-class and traditional invitation tournament Dubai Sevens in Dubai . With her team she could reach the quarterfinals.

Beach handball

After Mauritius was able to qualify for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games at the 2017 Junior World Championships in Flic-en-Flac , Mauritius , where beach handball was played for the first time in the Olympic Games, but the performance of the girls left much to be desired, players were sought in other sports. who could be retrained at short notice and could complement the team. These players also included the sevens rugby player Chloé Bax, who was used as a defensive player.

At the games in Buenos Aires , Mauritius started with a straight 0-2 defeat with 6:30 points against Croatia. Bax, who mostly formed the defensive trio in front of goalkeeper Sarina Ramlugon with Sabine Desvaux de Marigny and Emma de Waal , remained inconspicuous. The second game against Hungary was clearly lost in two sets with 6:51 points, Bax caused a penalty in this game. At the latest after the defeat in the third game against the other big outsider of the tournament from American Samoa in two sets it was clear that Mauritius was the biggest underdog of the tournament. With 15:38 points, the point quota could at least be kept a bit more gratifying this time. Bax scored her first point in the tournament in the game, but again caused a penalty. In the following clear defeat against Taiwan she received a time penalty, but also scored her second point of the tournament and a turnover (conquering the ball). The 0-2 (4:61) defeat against Russia was the biggest defeat in the tournament, Bax caused her third penalty. As the only team without a win, Mauritius finished last in the group and then played in the placement round. Here they lost to Venezuela 0-2 (4:48), Bax received their second time penalty of the tournament in the game. Also in the game against Hong Kong it was not possible to win a set, Bax caused a penalty for the fourth time. In the 0-2 defeat against Turkey, she was given a time penalty again, but was also able to block two opposing throws. Even after the placement round, Mauritius was bottom of the table without a win and without winning a set. In the game for eleventh place they met again on American Samoa. This time the game was much more competitive than in the preliminary round, with 19: 7 a set could be won for the first time. The American Samoa players equalized this with 22: 6 in the second round. The decision was made in the shootout for American Samoa, as none of the Mauritius players could score a point. Bax was given a time penalty for the fourth time and was one of seven players who had to leave the field four times during the tournament. Only Croatian Mia Bošnjak with six and Imeleta Mata'utia from American Samoa with five time penalties received more frequent warnings.
