Chobgye Trichen Rinpoche , Ngawang Thupten Khyenrab Lekshe Gyatsho ( Tib. Bco brgyad khri can rin po che ngag dbang mkhyen rab thub ldan legs bshad rgya mtsho * 1920 in Samzhubzê District , Tibet ; † 22. January 2007 in Bagdora, Nepal ) was 18 Head of the Tsar tradition , a sub-school of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism .

Life

He was born in Samzhubzê , Xigazê in 1920 and died on January 22, 2007 in Bagdora near Kathmandu , Nepal . He was ancestor of the Phenpo Nalendra monastery , which was founded by Rongtön Shecha Kunrig (1367–1449).

He built two monasteries, one in Kathmandu and another in Lumbini , and is regarded as the master of the masters who passed transmissions on to lineage holders of all Tibetan traditions, such as B. the 14th Dalai Lama , the Sakya Thridzin , the Dudjom Rinpoche and the then Karmapa candidate Thaye Dorje .
