The river has its source in the border area of the Quarter Castries and Gros Islet , in the valley of Almondale - Balata - Cabiche . It runs to the northwest, where the Alain Bousquet Higway follows its course and also passes the Union Orchid Garden . In the lower reaches, just before the confluence with Choc Bay, there is a quarry at Morne Serpent . Then the Castries-Gros Islet-Highway crosses the river and it flows into the Caribbean Sea .
