Chochana Boukhobza ( Hebrew שושנה בוקובזה) (born March 2, 1959 in Sfax , Tunisia ) is a French writer of Sephardic origin.

Life

She left Tunisia with her parents at the age of four and studied mathematics in Israel after graduating from high school . She has lived in Paris since she was 21 . She is the author of several novels. Her debut novel Un été à Jérusalem (English: Summer in Jerusalem ) was awarded the Prix ​​Méditerranée in 1986 . For her second work Le Cri she received the French literary prize Prix ​​Fémina . Chochana Boukhobza has also written some scripts. In 2005 she directed the documentary Un billet aller-retour (German: A return flight ticket ) for Barcelona-Paris Films Productions.
