The Prix ​​Méditerranée (German: "Mediterranean Prize") is a French literary prize .

It was donated in 1984 in Perpignan by the Mediterranean Center of Literature (CML, "Mediterranean Center for Literature") as a cultural interaction between the numerous Mediterranean countries. The first award ceremony took place in 1985. The jury meets twice a year in Paris .

Two awards are presented every year, once the Prix ​​Méditerranée itself and, since 1992, the Prix ​​Méditerranée Étranger . The latter goes to writers whose original work has been translated into French.
