Sandro Veronesi (* 1959 in Florence , Italy ) is an Italian writer .

In addition to his writing, he works as an architect . He is considered one of the most important authors of his generation in Italy.

He is one of the founders of the La nave di Teseo book publisher, which was created in November 2015 in Milan on the initiative of Umberto Eco . The reason was that numerous Italian Bompiani authors reacted indignantly that the large traditional publisher Bompiani had been sold to the Berlusconi group Mondadori. The two largest Italian literary book publishers would be thrown together by their planned merger with the Rizzoli publishing house.

His novel Fluchtwege , published in German in 2016, tells of the delicate balance of generations in contemporary Italy.

Sandro Veronesi lives and works in Rome and Prato.
