Chris Ardoin (born April 7, 1981 in Lake Charles , Louisiana ) is an American Zydeco accordionist, front man of the band "Double Clutchin '". He is a grandson of the Zydeco legend Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin . His father Lawrence "Black" Ardoin is also a well-known Zydeco band leader.

Chris Ardoin first performed with his father when he was four. At the age of nine, he accompanied his grandfather to a performance at Carnegie Hall . He was a member of his father's band, "Lagniappe", before forming the band "Double Clutchin '" with his brother Sean, his cousin Alphonse and Peter Jacobs. The band name is derived from the typical double beat of the bass drum , which is characteristic of the sound of the "new Zydeco" ( new Zydeco ).

In 1994 the band released their debut album, That's Da Lick ; at this point Chris Ardoin was 13 years old. The next albums were Lick It Up! (1995), Gon 'Be Jus' ine (1997), Turn the Page (1998) and Best Kept Secrets (2000).
