Chris Flory

Christopher Glen "Chris" Flory (born November 13, 1953 in Geneva (New York) ) is an American guitarist of mainstream jazz .

Live and act

Flory comes from a musical family; he brought the guitar itself (except for eight months in which he had 1,971 teaching) self-taught at. During his school days in Providence (Rhode Island) he met Scott Hamilton . After studying at Hobart College and his first appearances with rhythm and blues bands, he worked with Hamilton and his combo from 1974 until the 1990s. He has also worked with Roy Eldridge , Hank Jones , Illinois Jacquet , Jo Jones and Buddy Tate . In the early 1980s he was a member of Benny Goodman's band . Since the mid-1980s he has led his own groups and released albums under his own name; he is also featured on numerous recordings by Hamilton. Since 1999 he has played in Loren Schoenberg's big band . He also worked with Ruby Braff , Rosemary Clooney , Bob Wilber , Flip Phillips , Maxine Sullivan , Buck Clayton and Duke Robillard . He toured China with Judy Carmichael.
