Christopher Raymond Jack (born September 5, 1978 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand rugby union player on the position of second row striker . He is 2.02 m tall and weighs 112 kg.

Career

Jack has been playing for the Saracens in the English Guinness Premiership since 2007 . Before that he played in New Zealand for Canterbury and the Tasman Makos in the Air New Zealand Cup , for the Crusaders in the Super 14 (formerly Super 12) and internationally for the All Blacks . He made his international debut against Argentina on June 23, 2001 in his hometown of Christchurch . With his size and athleticism, he has since established himself as a regular for the All Blacks and is now considered one of the best second-row strikers in the world.

On June 7, 2006, it was reported that Jack signed a two-year contract with the newly formed Tasman Rugby Union. Nevertheless, he announced that he will join the English Premiership team Saracens after the 2007 Rugby Union World Cup . The connector Glen Jackson , who is also New Zealander, also plays there. At the end of the 2008-09 season he will return to New Zealand and play again for the Crusaders and the Tasman Rugby Union. Before that, however, he will be active in South Africa for the Western Province in the Currie Cup .

In 2002 he was named New Zealand Rugby Player of the Year.
