Chris Palmer (racing driver)

Chris Palmer (born June 21, 1962 in Carlisle ) is a former English motorcycle racer who mainly drove road races.

Career and life

Palmer started out with motocross in 1981 and moved to the 125cc class of the British Championship in 1991. At the end of the 1990s, he increasingly took part in road races. Success at the Isle of Man TT did not materialize until he moved to Castletown on the Isle of Man in 2002 .

Palmer only achieved his TT successes in the eight-liter class. In 2010 he joined the team SERT ( S wedish E letric R acing T eam) to access a machine on a Honda CBR600RR , based on the TT Zero participate. In the class of electric motorcycles, however, Palmer could not achieve great success. The trained auto mechanic announced his retirement from professional sport in 2013, but still takes part in classic and vintage car races.
