Chris Ward (sound engineer)

Christopher John Ward (born July 22, 1970 in Auckland , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand sound engineer who works primarily in the field of automatic dialogue recording .

Ward and Brent Burge received an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Editing for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013). Ward also won the Motion Picture Sound Editors Society's Golden Reel Award twice : in 2010 for District 9 (together with Jason Canovas , Brent Burge and the entire sound department of the film) and in 2012 for The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of Einhorn (again together with Canovas, Burge and the Sound Department). In 2010 and 2013 he was also nominated for a British Academy Film Award in the category " Best Sound " (for District 9 and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ).
