Chrissie White
Chrissie White , nee Ada Constance White , (born May 23, 1895 in London - † August 18, 1989 in Hollywood , California ) was a British child actress and actress . She was one of the first stars in British film .
Life
She was born Ada Constance White and made her film debut in 1909. She often appeared in short films by Lewin Fitzhamon , including Tilly in a comedy series with Alma Taylor from 1910 to 1915. She was employed solely by Cecil Hepworth's film company and her career ended in 1924 when the Hepworth Studios went bankrupt. In the same year she married the actor and director Henry Edwards , with whom she already formed a popular film couple as the British Pickford - Fairbanks in the 1910s .
White only appeared in two sound films in the early 1930s and retired completely into private life after her husband's death in 1952.
