Alma Taylor
Alma Taylor (born January 3, 1895 in London , † January 23, 1974 ibid) was a British child actress and actress . She was one of the first stars in British film .
Life
She made her film debut in 1908, before that she had already appeared on London stages. Until 1915 she appeared alongside Chrissie White as Sally, the sister of the eponymous heroine Tilly, in a popular comedy series by producer Cecil Hepworth . She was engaged with Hepworth until the 1920s and played primarily in melodramatic roles. In 1923, she starred in Hepworth's ambitious but unsuccessful remake of Comin 'Thro the Rye . With the subsequent collapse of his film company, Taylor was no longer present until 1926.
In 1929 she starred in two German films, including Der Hund von Baskerville , directed by Richard Oswald . She only made a few sound films and only had minor roles there, the last one in 1958.
Alma Taylor was married to the film producer Walter West . She died of a stroke.
