Christa Schnitzler-Runge (born December 25, 1938 in Delmenhorst ) is a German performing artist .

Life

She grew up rural among farmers and craftsmen in the Oldenburger Land . From 1959 to 1961 she was trained in performing arts at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. One of their teachers was Otto Wernicke . Afterwards she was engaged at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus until 1964. In 1962 she married Conrad Schnitzler . Their three children were born in 1963, 1964 and 1966. The family moved to Berlin. After the separation in 1972, she took on social responsibility for their children and worked for the Deutsche Bundespost as an express deliverer. Her life partner was Folke Hanfeld (visual artist). She still lives in Berlin.

In the years 1970/71 she developed drama with children in children's shops and on public playgrounds. It should be a development of words, voice, movement, drums and the common in general. She wrote plays / concepts for a permanent, but constantly redesigned theater group on playgrounds, everything was influenced by the Living Theater from New York.

She was also involved in the work of the electronic music groups Kluster / Eruption at the side of her husband Conrad Schnitzler. In 1970 the record "Klopfzeichen" was recorded. For the event Klang-Szene 2 in 1971 with Günther Uecker (visualization) and Friedhelm Döhl (composition), she took over the percussion for “Kluster”. She was involved in the music improvisations in the René Block Berlin gallery . In the meantime, she has repeatedly worked with visual artists (voice, body, texts) and wrote literary works.
