Christel Beslmeisl

Christel Beslmeisl (born January 11, 1940 in Fürth ) is a former German trade unionist.

Beslmeisl attended elementary school and the state commercial school in Fürth and reached secondary school. From 1958 on she worked as a secretary in various companies, in 1960 she moved to the district management of the wood and plastics union in Fürth. After an evening course in business administration at the vocational training academy, she became managing director of the wood and plastics union in 1971. In 1978 she rose to become district manager of the wood and plastics union in Northern Bavaria. She was a member of the board of directors of the AOK Mittelfranken , the representative assembly of the wood trade association, the advisory board of the trade association and occupational medical service, the accident prevention committee and the administrative board of the state labor office in Northern Bavaria. From 1986 until its dissolution in 1999 she was a member of the Bavarian Senate , whose second vice-president she was from 1994 to 1998 and whose first vice-president she was in the last two years. From 1990 she was also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bavarian State Foundation . The Christel Beslmeisl Foundation has been named after her since 2004 .
