Christel Klinzmann
Christel Klinzmann (born August 16, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player .
Christel Klinzmann played for VfR Eintracht Wolfsburg . Her greatest success at club level was her participation in the 1984 DFB Cup final , which was lost against SSG 09 Bergisch Gladbach . In 1982 she was part of the first line-up of a German women's national soccer team , which defeated Switzerland 5-1. Klinzmann came on for Gaby Dlugi-Winterberg . The consistent and uncompromising defensive player made a total of 21 appearances for the German national team until her last game against the USA on July 22, 1988. In the 5-0 victory over Iceland on July 30, 1986, she was able to achieve her only international goal. After her career, she ran a sports shop in Helmstedt until the end of March 2011 and is a trainer in the youth division of TSV Helmstedt .
