Christiaan L. Hart Nibbrig

Christiaan Lucas Hart Nibbrig (born August 2, 1944 in Basel ) is a Swiss cultural scientist and essayist .

Life

Hart Nibbrig, son of the painter Ferdinand E. Hart Nibbrig Jr. and grandson of the well-known Dutch painter Ferdinand Hart Nibbrig, studied German literature , English literature and philosophy in Basel , London and Berlin from 1964 [1] . He also studied at the Music Academy of the City of Basel (violoncello). In 1971 Hart Nibbrig received his doctorate in Basel and in 1974 he completed his habilitation at the University of Bern . From 1980 to 2008 he was a full professor of modern German literature at the University of Lausanne . He has been visiting professor in Europe and the USA. This includes lecturing around the world.
