Christian Birkenfeld

Christian Birkenfeld (born August 8, 1978 in Ulm ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Birkenfeld played in the junior division of the SSV Ulm , went to a school in Florida for a year in 1996  and then returned to his hometown. The 2.04 meter tall wing and inside player made it into the Ulm Bundesliga squad. Until 1999 he played for the "Spatzen" and was also used in the European Cup, in 1999/2000 he was part of the SV Oberelchingen squad in the 2nd basketball league and 2001/02 in the northern season of the second division for the BG team 74 Göttingen .

In 2002, Birkenfeld joined the second division USC Heidelberg  and ran for the traditional club until 2006, where he missed the 2004/05 season due to a toe injury. In the 2006/07 game year he strengthened TV Langen (also 2nd Bundesliga).

In addition to his basketball career, he completed a teaching degree in English and political science.

National team

Birkenfeld took part in the 1996 European championship with the German junior national team.
