Christian Dahm (born September 2, 1963 in Herford ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2010 and deputy chairman of the SPD state parliamentary group since May 2017.

Life

In 1979, Dahm obtained the technical college entrance qualification at the Ernst-Barlach- Realschule in Herford . From 1979 to 1982 he completed an apprenticeship with the NRW police . He then worked as a police officer at the police headquarters in Cologne until 1983 . Between 1983 and 1993 he was doing the same job at the district police authority in Herford . In 1990 he acquired the technical college entrance qualification and then studied until 1993 at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Bielefeld with a degree in administrative management (FH) . From 1993 to 2006 Dahm was a police officer with the Detmold district government and since 2007 with the police headquarters in Bielefeld . Dahm holds the rank of police chief inspector .

politics

Dahm has been a member of the SPD since 1990 and a board member in many party organizations. He was a knowledgeable citizen. Since 1999 he has been a council member of the city of Vlotho and a member of numerous committees. From 2006 to 2012 he was parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the city council of Vlotho. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , Christian Dahm won a direct mandate in the Herford I state constituency with 45.5 percent of the first votes and thus entered the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , Christian Dahm defended the constituency mandate with 49 percent of the first votes. With 39.4 percent of the first votes in the NRW state elections in 2017 , he again entered the state parliament. Until November 2015, he was chairman of the regional policy committee in the state parliament.

Memberships

Dahm has been a member of the police union (GdP) since 1980 . He is still an active member of local and regional development associations and partnership associations. He is involved in several sports clubs, especially the FC Exter football club .

Private

Dahm is married and has two sons. He lives in Vlotho - Exter .
