Christian Friedrich Falckenberg
Christian Friedrich Falckenberg (* around 1675 in Copenhagen , Kingdom of Denmark ; † July 8, 1745 in Danzig , Polish-Prussia ) was a Danish painter in Danzig. He wrote a painter's book there .
Live and act
Christian Friedrich Falckenberg came to Gdansk from Copenhagen. There he was for a time a senior man (chairman) of the painters' guild.
In 1709 he created ceiling paintings in the Heilig-Leichnam-Kirche (not preserved). In 1724 Falckenberg wrote the Great Master Book , in which he gathered information about painters and works of art of his time. This valuable testimony to the art history of Gdańsk is in the archive there. It has not yet been published.
