Christian Friedrich Schultze (born January 9, 1944 in Gersdorf ) is a former German politician of the SPD and author.

Professional background

The son of a pastor lived in Gersdorf until he was nine years old and attended primary school there. He then completed the remainder of school until 1960 in Jonsdorf in Upper Lusatia. After that, Schultze learned the profession of carpenter until 1962. Subsequently, he belonged to the first class of conscripts in the GDR, Schultze did his 18-month basic military service from 1962 to 1964 as part of the introduction of general conscription in the GDR. He then started studying wood technology in Dresden, which he finished in 1967 as an engineer. After studying engineering, Schultze initially worked in construction and trade companies. In addition to his work, he took up a distance learning course in finance and law in the 1970s, which he completed in 1984 with a degree in law. From 1988 until his election as a member of the People's Chamber, Schultze worked in the GDR Ministry of Commerce, where he worked as the chief accountant of the ministry's own accounting company. After his interlude in politics, Schultze was admitted to the bar in 1991, initially in law firms in Ebersbach and Zittau, and later in Dresden. Christian F. Schultze has lived as a freelance writer in Pulsnitz since 2005 .

Political career

Until 1989, Schultze first joined the New Forum in September 1989. In October 1989 he became a member of the just founded SDP. In December 1989, Schultze was elected chairman of the SPD district in Berlin-Weißensee, a position he held until March 1990. Schultze ran for the first free Volkskammer elections in constituency 1 (Berlin) on list position 4. Since the SPD won 11 seats there, Schultze became a member of the last Volkskammer. Within the SPD Volkskammer faction, the SPD MPs elected Schultze as Parliamentary Managing Director. After the end of the People's Chamber, Schultze was one of the 144 members who were accepted into the 11th German Bundestag . There, too, Schultze acted as Parliamentary Managing Director of the SPD parliamentary group until December 20, 1990. Schultze ran unsuccessfully for the 12th Bundestag.

In 2004 he resigned from the SPD because of Agenda 2010 . On August 18, 2009, Schultze was appointed Justice of the Peace of the Pulsnitz Administrative Community for four years by the Pulsnitz City Council . He has been a member of the AfD since 2018 . In 2019 he was put up as an AfD candidate for the state election in Saxony. In the Bautzen 2 constituency, with 30.4%, he achieved the second highest number of first votes behind the constituency winner Aloysius Mikwauschk from the CDU.
