Aloysius Mikwauschk ( Upper Sorbian Alojs Mikławšk ; born June 20, 1958 in Räckelwitz ) is a German politician ( CDU ) of Sorbian nationality. Since September 2009 he has been a member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life and work

Mikwauschk completed an apprenticeship as a motor vehicle mechanic by 1977 and then worked in his profession until 1978. He then became an employee of Feuerfestwerke Wetro GmbH. From 1994 to 2009 he was an employee of the Member of Parliament and former Prime Minister Georg Milbradt .

Aloysius Mikwauschk is of Roman Catholic denomination, is married and has two children.

Work in the CDU Kamenz and in the CDU district association Bautzen

Mikvauschk joined the CDU in 1990. From 1996 to 2007 he was deputy CDU district chairman in Kamenz and since 2007 he has been a member of the board of the CDU district association in Bautzen. From 1994 to 2009 he was a councilor in Räckelwitz, he was also a member of the Kamenz district council and, since the Saxony district reform in 2008, of the Bautzen district council. In the Bautzen district council, he has been the parliamentary group manager of the CDU district parliamentary group since 2009.

In September 2009 he moved into the state parliament of Saxony for the CDU via the direct mandate in the constituency of Bautzen 2 and thus succeeded the previous Prime Minister Georg Milbradt in this constituency . For the state elections in 2014, the CDU nominated him again with 100% as a direct candidate in the Bautzen 2 constituency and he defended his direct mandate in 2014 with 47.1% of the first votes in the constituency, clearly ahead of the opponent of Die Linke , Marion Junge . In the 6th electoral term of the Saxon State Parliament (2014-2019), Mikwauschk is a full member of the budget and finance committee and is its deputy chairman. He is also a full member of the Petitions Committee and the University and Science Committee. He is a deputy member of the Committee on School and Sport, the Constitutional and Legal Committee, the Committee on Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, Equal Opportunities and Integration, the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Immunity Matters and the Election Review Committee of the Saxon State Parliament. The CDU parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament appointed Mikvauschk as his parliamentary group's spokesman for Sorbian politics. From April 2012 to September 2014 he was one of 19 members of the Saxon NSU investigative committee “Neo-Nazi Terror Networks in Saxony”.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he was again elected constituency member in the Bautzen 2 constituency with 39.8 percent of the direct votes.

In the 7th Saxon State Parliament, he takes on the role of deputy chairman of the budget and finance committee and is a member of the petitions committee. He is particularly committed to his constituency and rural areas in West Lusatia.

Mikvauschk is a member of the advisory board of the Sorbian newspaper "Serbske Nowiny".

Since 2013 he has been a board member of the Saxon State Board of Trustees for Ländlicher Raum e. V.

Sports

Mikwauschk has been the chairman of the Viktoria Räckelwitz 92 eV sports club in his home town of Räckelwitz since 1995. Due to his mandate in the Saxon state parliament and his enthusiasm for football, he is a member of the soccer club FC Landtag Sachsen and is vice-president of the FC Landtag Sachsen.
