Christian Georg von Helmolt

Christian Georg von Helmolt († April 21, 1805 in Gotha ) was a Saxon-Gotha colonel of the Guard Corps (bodyguard on horseback), privy councilor, castle captain and manor owner. He translated several foreign language plays and published several scientific articles.

He came from the von Helmolt family of Göttingen and was the son of Christian Ludwig von Helmolt. He died as an appointed Saxon-Weißenfels chamberlain and hunting squire in Weißenfels on August 29, 1763 in Bilzingsleben. After his father's death, he and his brothers inherited the paternal manor of Bilzingsleben .

Christian Georg von Helmolt acquired the Flanshof in Kannawurf on October 10, 1780 from his cousin Christian August Gotthold von Helmolt (* 1744).

He was married to Sophie Emilie Franziska von Lengefeld († June 12, 1823).

His son was the Rittmeister Carl Friedrich Ernst von Helmolt, who died on October 10, 1804, who was born with Sophie Caroline Juliane Friedericke. von Berbisdorf was married. His grandson was Christian Ernst von Helmolt, to whom he bequeathed the Flanshof in Kannawurf. For a while, he dealt with forest science in Wolkenstein (Ore Mountains) . In 1823 he sold the Flanshof in Kannawurf. The daughter Christiane (1766-1825) was married to the geologist Ernst Friedrich von Schlotheim .

Christian Georg von Helmolt was a member of the Zum Rautenkranze lodge in Gotha .
