Christian Heinrich Willful

Christian Heinrich Eigenwillig (* 1732 in Dresden ; † 1808 there ) was a master mason in Dresden.

Life

Willfully enjoyed his practical training with Friedrich August Krubsacius . He made trips to Mecklenburg and Pomerania, where he also acquired the master's license. In 1764 the Dresden council called him back. He carried out Johann George Schmidt's plans for the interior design of the Dresden Kreuzkirche . After Schmidt died in 1774, Eigenwillig took his place as master builder and mason in Dresden. From 1777 to 1780 he built the orphanage church according to Schmidt's plans . From 1789 to 1795 he built the Bohemian Church and in 1793 the diaconate and school college apartment at the Kreuzkirche. He made plans for the new Annenschule (1788) and a new foundling house (1793). His “masterpiece” was the Hotel Stadt Berlin (Lindebergscher Gasthof), which he built in 1769.
