Christian Kastrop

Christian Kastrop was fencing master at the University of Göttingen from 1819 to 1846 . He developed the technique of slash fencing for the Göttinger Hieber , a predecessor weapon of the basket racket . The blow was struck so that the opponent could parry it at the same time. This technique was u. a. refined by Friedrich August Wilhelm Ludwig Roux , who then introduced them to Jena .
