Christian Otto von Helmolt

Christian Otto von Helmolt (born February 22, 1658 in Stödten ; † February 28, 1727 in Kannawurf ) was a Saxon-Gotha lieutenant colonel, Saxon-Weißenfels chamber councilor and heir to Kannawurf and Bilzingsleben .

He came from the von Helmolt family of Göttingen . On 16./18. In April 1726 he bought the Mannlehnrittergut of the Bose brothers in Kannawurf for 43,000 thalers and thus laid the foundation for the expansion of his family's ownership in the Thuringian Basin . At that time, Kannawurf belonged to the secondary school principality of Saxony-Weißenfels . Helmolt entered the service of the ruling duke as a councilor. To do this, it was necessary to stay at the court in Weißenfels for a certain period of the year .

He died at the end of February 1727 on his manor in Kannawurf, leaving behind the sons Friedrich August , Christian Ludwig († 30 August 1763) and Carl Gustav († 24 May 1762). After the death of his father after the fraternal division, the former received his father's manor in Kannawurf and continued the branch of the family.
