Christian Rolfs

Christian Rolfs (* 1966 in Düsseldorf ) is a German law scholar and professor at the University of Cologne .

life and work

Rolfs studied law at the University of Mainz , where he passed his first state examination in 1990. In 1993 he passed his second state examination in Düsseldorf. From the University of Cologne Rolfs was established in 1994 with that of Peter Hanau supervised writing "The liability under colleagues' Dr. iur. PhD. In 1999 he completed his habilitation with a publication on social security law supervised by Ulrich Preis .

After serving as a professor, Rolfs held the chair for civil law, labor and social law and insurance law at Bielefeld University from 2001 to 2009 . From 2006 to 2008 he was dean of the Bielefeld law faculty. In the summer semester of 2009, he moved to the Institute for Insurance Law at the University of Cologne as Director, where he holds a full professorship and heads the Department of Insurance Law.

Rolfs' research focuses on civil law, especially tenancy law; In labor and insurance law, these are above all the law of company pension schemes, the law of life insurance, employment promotion and termination rights and the law of fixed-term employment relationships. He is also co-editor of a commentary on the Company Pension Act .
