Christian Schmidt (carpenter)
Christian Rudolf Schmidt (born August 4, 1708 in Hadamar ; † October 19, 1753 in the Marienstatt Monastery ) was a Nassau Baroque carpenter .
Schmidt was born as the son of the master carpenter Johann Heinrich Schmidt. In 1735 he entered the Cistercian Abbey of Marienstatt as a lay brother . There he created his main work with the baroque staircase carved from oak wood. The richly decorated, two-armed staircase in the portal area of the monastery leads to the upper floor.
