Christian Schröder (lawyer)

Christian Schröder (born December 12, 1958 ) is a German legal scholar .

Career

From 1989 to 1995 Schröder was employed in the judicial service of the State of Berlin , initially as a public prosecutor and criminal and civil judge, later in the Senate Department for Justice. He received his doctorate in 1993 at the University of Osnabrück and completed his habilitation in 2001. From 2000 to 2002 he worked again for the State of Berlin, as a criminal judge at the regional court and as a judge at the higher court .

Schröder has been Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since the summer semester of 2002 . His research focus is on commercial and capital market criminal law. Schröder is the author of the manual on capital market criminal law , a standard work on capital market criminal law. He turned down an offer at the University of Hanover in autumn 2009.

Since 2010, Schröder has headed the newly established Capital Markets Criminal Law Research Center at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
