Christian Schubert (* 1961 in Oldenburg , Lower Saxony ) is a German psychoneuroimmunologist .

Live and act

After his school education, which he successfully completed with the Abitur in 1981 , Schubert began studying medicine and psychology at the University of Innsbruck in the same year . With his doctorate in 1992 he completed his studies and at the same time completed training as a psychotherapist specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy . From 1991 to 1994 he was trained as a specialist in laboratory medicine and, after successfully completing his studies, worked from 1992 to 1995 as a research assistant at the University Institute for Medicinal Chemistry and Biochemistry in Innsbruck. Since 1995 he has been involved in setting up the Laboratory for Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) at the University Clinic for Medical Psychology at the Medical University of Innsbruck , which has been an independent medical university since 2005 .

In 2005 he completed a research year in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego ; In the same year Schubert took over the leadership of the working group for psychoneuroimmunology of the German College for Psychosomatic Medicine (DKPM). Since 2013 Schubert has also been a board member of the Thure von Uexküll Academy for Integrated Medicine , formerly AIM . In addition to various appearances on radio and television, Schubert also wrote a number of articles in international journals and, in addition to various book chapters, also published his own books, such as the textbook Psychoneuroimmunologie und Psychotherapie (2015) or What Makes Us Sick - What Heals Us: The Departure into a New Medicine (2016).
