biography

Navarro taught literature at the Canary School of Literary Creation from 2011 to 2013. He has contributed to the Diario del Alto Aragón , El Periódico de Aragón and Diario 16 . He founded and organized the literary prize for police officers, Concurso literario policía y cultura, which was awarded for 3 years. Navarro is involved in organizing the Aragón Negro festival in Huesca . In January 2013 he was a finalist of the Nadal Literature Prize with his novel La noche de los peones. In the same year he was honored by the top management of the Aragon National Police for his services to the reputation of the police corps.

His tenth novel A History of the Police was presented in Madrid in March 2017 . Although the content is fiction, it is inspired by actual events and describes corruption and mafia-like structures within the police apparatus. This was followed by international media reports in The Guardian , in the media of the Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso and in Russia Today . The police launched an investigation against Navarro on the grounds, among other things, that he had used his work for the police to advertise his books and had damaged the reputation of the police with A History of the Police . After the investigation was over, Navarro was unable to resume his service in Huesca due to feared animosity from his colleagues. Navarro turned down the proposal to be transferred to another city for family reasons. Therefore, he was retired by the police department in 2018 after 24 years of service.
