Christian Schwartz (font designer)
Christian Schwartz (born December 30, 1977 in Concord, New Hampshire ) is an American type designer . He became known through his collaboration with Erik Spiekermann (FF Meta Serif, FF Unit, corporate font for Bosch ). The DB Type font , which Schwartz designed together with Spiekermann for Deutsche Bahn , was awarded the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany .
Live and act
Schwartz is studying communication design at Carnegie Mellon University. After that he worked for Meta-Design in Berlin for a few months. During this time, for example, he helped design the fonts for Volkswagen . Back in the USA , he initially worked for the Boston-based Font Bureau before setting up on his own in 2001.
