Christian Weissenburger

Christian Weissenburger (born July 6, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer and head of Section I of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology .

Life

After studying law and working for the municipality of Vienna and a photo company, regular military service and court practice, Weissenburger worked in the legal department of the DDSG from 1985 . He entered the federal service in 1987. His career at the Federal Chancellery took him through the human resources and legal departments to the position of office manager of the State Secretary for the public service. Weissenburger then worked from 1995 to 1997 as office manager of the Federal Minister of the Interior and from 1997 to 1999 of the Federal Minister of Science and Transport. Since 1998 he has been employed at what is now the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (since 2003 Head of Section I / Coordination).

From May to October 2015, Weissenburger was entrusted with the management of the Austrian Patent Office as interim president after the dismissal of Friedrich Rödler, who had been his subordinate until then . He was replaced as President of the Patent Office by Mariana Karepova (who had previously worked in the cabinet of Federal Minister Alois Stöger ).
