Christian von Coelln

Christian von Coelln (* 1967 in Düsseldorf ) is a German lawyer and has been Dean of Studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Cologne since January 2013 , where he has held a chair for constitutional and administrative law as well as scientific law since April 2008 and one since the 2011/2012 winter semester Chair of constitutional and administrative law as well as scientific law and media law.

Career

He attended the Humboldt Gymnasium in Düsseldorf until his Abitur in 1987 . From 1990 to 1995 von Coelln studied law at the University of Passau , received a scholarship and passed the first state examination in law in 1995 with the grade “good”. After a legal traineeship in the higher regional court district of Munich , the second state examination followed in 1997, also with the rating “good”, and in 2000 the dissertation on the subject of “Application of federal law in accordance with the state's fundamental rights?” And in 2004 the habilitation on the subject of “On the media public of the third power ”. After working at the chair for constitutional and administrative law as well as commercial administrative law and media law as a research assistant, research assistant and senior assistant, he represented the chair for public law and administrative sciences at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from October 2006 to September 2007 . In 2007 he accepted the position of professor for constitutional and administrative law as well as scientific law at the University of Cologne and has been a university professor there since 2008, and since 2012 at the chair for constitutional and administrative law as well as scientific law and media law. He is also director of the Institute for German and European Science Law.

In September 2019 he was one of about 100 constitutional law teachers who, with the open appeal for the right to vote, Downsized the Bundestag! turned to the German Bundestag .
