Christiane Singhammer

Christiane Singhammer (born February 1, 1981 in Freilassing ) is a German monoski racer. She was born without legs and is dependent on a wheelchair. She is employed as an administrative clerk at the city administration of Laufen. Since December 2000 she has been a monoski racer in the LW12 / 2 Alpine Skiing class in the roster of the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS).

Sporting successes

In her first race in Pitztal, she took first place in the slalom in the European Cup winter 2000/2001. Due to her success in giant slalom, among other things, she reached 3rd place in the overall ranking.

After an injury break in the 2001/2002 season, Singhammer reached fourth place in the giant slalom at the Paralympic Games in Salt Lake City .

In the 2002/2003 racing season, which was also the qualifying season for the World Championship in the following year, Christiane Singhammer was able to improve from sixth to fourth place in the overall World Cup scores. In addition, she reached second place in the European Slalom Cup.

During the 2003/2004 season, in addition to successes in the European Cup and World Cup competitions, she won the runner-up in the slalom world championship in Wildschönau in Austria . She also took fifth place in the giant slalom and sixth place in the Super-G.
