Christina Berger

Christina Berger (born October 31, 1946 in Calbe (Saale) , née Christina Hentze ) is a German professor of materials science .

Life

Christina Berger graduated from high school and passed the Abitur in 1965. She then studied materials science and testing at the Magdeburg Technical University and completed this part of her training in 1970 as a graduate engineer. She stayed at this university until 1973 on a research grant to do her doctorate, after which she worked for a year as a research assistant at the Scientific Technical Center for Gearboxes and Clutches in Magdeburg. She completed her doctorate in 1975 at RWTH Aachen University . From 1975 she worked for Siemens AG .

In 1995 she became full professor for the field of materials science at the TU Darmstadt and at the same time head of the institute for materials science and the state material testing institute Darmstadt. She is a member of numerous working groups, boards of trustees and associations and is a member of the board of the Scientific Council of the Working Group of Industrial Research Associations "Otto von Guericke" (Aif), the German Society for Materials Science and the German Association for Materials Research and Testing .

Christina Berger is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech).
