The district court of Hoyerswerda ( Upper Sorbian Hamtske sudnistwo Wojerecy ) is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of a total of 30 district courts in the Free State of Saxony .

Seat and District of the Court

The judicial district of the Hoyerswerda District Court includes the city of Hoyerswerda and the municipalities of Bernsdorf , Elsterheide , Lauta , Lohsa , Spreetal , Wiednitz and Wittichenau ( Section 1 (4), Annex No. 14 of the Saxon Justice Act). The court has its seat in 02977 Hoyerswerda, Pforzheimer Platz 2.

Superior courts

The district court of Görlitz is directly superior to the district court of Hoyerswerda . The competent higher regional court is the higher regional court of Dresden .

History

The district court of Hoyerswerda had been responsible for the eastern part of the district of Hoyerswerda since 1879, while the district court of Ruhland was set up for the communities in the western part of the district at that time. Since then, both courts have belonged to the district of the Görlitz district court.
