Christina Wassen

Christina Wassen (born January 12, 1999 in Eschweiler ) is a German diver . She is German champion and multiple winner of international youth championships.

Career

Wassen has been practicing water jumping since he was five and trained as a child at SV Neptun Aachen in 1910 . After two years at the club, her younger sister Elena was old enough to get into the sport. Since then the sisters have been training together. After the split of SV Neptun Aachen, the two jumped for the city ​​region Aachen water diving club . When the federal base in Aachen was finally closed at the beginning of 2012, both moved to Berlin to continue their sport there.

Wassen was able to achieve successes and medals as a junior. She almost exclusively competed against much older colleagues, both nationally and internationally. Her greatest successes are her titles as German champion and four-time runner-up. In addition, she won two gold medals, four silver medals and two bronze medals at junior world and european championships. She also took part in senior world and european championships, finishing in tenth and sixth place. In July 2016, she was voted Berlin’s young athlete of the month.
